I had difficulty deciding which college was the best for me, moving to a different state and living with girls I barely knew. But going to Baylor was the best decision I made. Line camp is where I made some of my strongest connections and knew it would be home for the next 4 years. So many campus activities easily allow you to meet new people and figure out your interests, especially within the first few weeks. Meet as many people as possible in the first 2 weeks, I met my best friend at a resident hall s'more event! Classes are like all the rest, but the campus is that happy medium in size that allows you to see friends walking to and from class but is big enough to switch up your daily route to class. Every football Saturday, freshmen rush to McLane stadium to run across the field before the game, even if we are playing poorly, that's our team! Rushing to the stands to get the best seat, getting to games, of any sport, hours before doors open! If you go to Baylor, go to everything!
I lived at Brooks RC and it was super fun! If you're looking for an involved community I highly recommend living there. It is a two-year contract, but definitely worth it. Overall professors are nice and they enjoy what they are teaching. There are also so many clubs and events throughout the year so you're never bored. The best dining hall is 100% East Village. Penland is good depending on what you get, but sometimes meat is undercooked and there was an issue at the beginning of the year where people got food poisoning from it. Brooks has the best staff, and Memo has a couple of good stations but mostly is pretty mid. Baylor is so generous with Scholarships and Financial Aid for the regular school year, but just know if you're taking Summer classes, there are only loan options unless you're graduating early. Then there is an option to apply your academic scholarship to the Summer tuition as long as you're in good standing.
I really enjoy student life and being able to get involved with anything that might interest you on campus. There's always an opportunity to partake in sports with intramurals and Greek Life is very fun if it is something you're interested in! The dorms are sometimes on the older side, but they're working to improve and update dorms every year.
