Buffalo, N.Y. — Get ready to wing it, foodies: Upstate New York’s spiciest path has landed a spot on a list of the top food trails in the United States.
The Buffalo Wing Trail has been named one of the best food and drink trails in America by Time Out, an international travel website. The saucy trail made the ranking along 10 others, including Georgia’s Macon Bacon Trail and the New Jersey Pizza Trail.
“There’s never been a better time to hit the road hungry,” Time Out said.
Buffalo is the birthplace of Buffalo chicken wings — arguably one of America’s favorite foods. To celebrate the tasty historical link, Visit Buffalo Niagara created a map for gastronauts of the best wings in and around the City of Good Neighbors.
The Buffalo Wing Trail started with 12 stops in 2018 and is now up to 13.

Time Out praised the Buffalo Wing Trail for including variations of the appetizer that go beyond hot sauce. (The trail sorts out destinations by four categories: spicy, saucy, original and unusual.)
The digital magazine picked two standout destinations: Elmo’s Bar & Restaurant, which serves saucy “double-dipped” wings, and Glen Park Tavern, famed for Sicilian wings doused in parmesan cheese, garlic, basil and oregano.
A full map of the Buffalo Wing Trail — which, of course, includes Anchor Bar and Duff’s Famous Wings — is on Visit Buffalo Niagara’s website.
The Buffalo Wing Trail was the only New York-based food or drink trial to make Time Out’s roundup.
