Taylor Swift Audience Screams When Backup Dancer Takes Mic on Stage

Taylor Swift may have broken records with her Eras tour, but one of her back-up dancers is stealing the show online.

The 34-year-old singer performed at Madrid's Santiago Bernabéu Stadium on Wednesday, with a snippet of the show going viral.

In the clip posted to X, formerly Twitter, by user Ana (@Anasantome17), Swift recreates the phone conversation from her 2012 track We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together.

"This is exhausting ya know, we are never getting back to together," Swift tells the crowd, before pointing the mic to dancer Kameron N. Saunders.

"Ni De Coña!" he yells, which translates to "no way" in English.

Since being shared on Wednesday, the video has received 1.7 million views. The video also made a splash on TikTok after being posted by the Swift fan account, @musicsociety, receiving over 14,000 views.

"Ni de coña JAJAJAJAJ soy fan," commented user @negrocotilla, which translate to "No way HAHAHAHAHA I'm a fan"

"Me encanta," said Noi, which means "I'm loving it."

"Love Kam," wrote @KittyMayhem.

"Ok now Mr sexys turn next to tay," said Liz McQueen, while @daniela_rv1 dubbed Saunders "THE BEST."

Newsweek has reached out to Kameron Saunders for comment by Instagram.

Swift's Eras tour ensemble includes 16 back-up dancers, three vocalists and a dedicated live band. The three-and-a-half hour show features 44 songs across 10 acts, with each "era" inspired by a different album and time in the singer's life. However, the setlist was recently updated following the release of her 11th studio album, The Tortured Poets Department, in April.

This isn't the first time that Saunders has gone viral during the tour's run. The University of Missouri-Kansas City graduate took over the internet in July, thanks to his solo performance during the track "Bejeweled."

Prior to joining the Eras tour in 2023, Saunders toured with the Dallas Black Dance Theatre and the Saint Louis Ballet. He also appeared in the 2023 adaption of The Color Purple and the 2022 musical Christmas comedy Spirited, starring Ryan Reynolds and Will Ferrell.

The next stop on Swift's tour is the French City of Lyon. This is the pop star's second stop in the country, following four-nights of sold out performances at Paris' La Défense Arena earlier this month.

Swift will perform at the Groupama Stadium on Sunday and Monday, supported by the rock band Paramore. The Grammy winner will then be heading to the U.K. for shows in Edinburgh, Liverpool, Cardiff and London.

Correction 06/12/24, 11:53 a.m. ET: This article has been updated with a correction to the name of the University of Missouri-Kansas City.
