No One Can Cope With Where Dog Who's 'Terrified' of Flies Hides From Them

Nico, a 5-year-old Australian shepherd, has left people in stitches thanks to an unusual fear that causes him to cower in the shower.

In a video on TikTok with more than 2 million views, Nico's owner Kane Desilva, from Pittsburgh, caught the moment the pup was hiding after seeing something scary—a fly.

Alongside the video, Desilva wrote: "My dog is terrified of flies. He hides in here if there is a fly in the apartment lmao," while the footage showed the dog cowering in the back of the stall.

"Him being afraid of flies seems to be a new development out of nowhere. The last few months he would just randomly shake and look around, and it took us some time to figure out the cause—flies!" Desilva told Newsweek.

Desilva and his wife are always taking pictures and videos of their beloved pup, and when they captured the moment he ran and hid from the insect in the apartment, they knew they had to share it.

"My wife and I are always taking videos and pictures of him because he's an extremely goofy, silly dog," he said. "We decided to share because we thought it was just another hilarious video of Nico, but never knew how many other dogs were either afraid of flies, or the opposite and eat them."

In the comments, people reacted to Nico's unusual fear. "Literally, couldn't hurt a fly," laughed Mcgrizzly. While commenter Sla joked: "Don't expose him like this."

Others shared their own anecdotes of pets' fears. Melissa wrote: "My bf's dog is scared of the Netflix sound intro."

"Why are the smartest dogs scared of the silliest stuff?" said TikToker Speaking truth. "Mine is afraid of the wind."

Fellow dog owner Dezurah said: "Mine gets scared at chewing gum." And viewer Jax said: "Mine is scared of balloons. Found this out the other day when my husband randomly brought me a balloon and flowers home."

This isn't the first time a dog has gone viral for a funny fear. Last month, Millie gained viral attention for hiding under the table during a party, while others dogs have been scaring their owners instead. Like golden retriever Winston who figured out how to jump out at his owner in a hilarious video.
