Lana Del Rey Fenway Park Concert Evacuated

Lana Del Rey played for the first time at Fenway Park on Thursday night, but only after the field had initially been evacuated because of bad weather.

The Grammy-nominated "Video Games" singer was meant to start performing at 8:30 p.m., but according to entertainment website Just Jared, the show didn't start until 10:30 p.m. It was delayed due to thunderstorms, with attendees being temporarily evacuated from the field until the rain stopped.

"Due to pending weather conditions, there will be a delay in tonight's performance. All fans must leave the field seating and open air seating sections and seek shelter inside the stadium concourse immediately. Please take time to assemble all members of your party and calmly proceed inside the stadium concourse," a sign on the field read.

But the show still went on and the singer-songwriter was able to perform 15 songs for fans before curfew, per Just Jared. Newsweek contacted Fenway Park and a spokesperson for Del Rey for comment on Friday.

Taking to her Instagram story at one point during the night, Del Rey uploaded a photo of a part of the stage and wrote: "They are holding off the show until 9:00 because of the wind warnings. See you soon."

In a follow-up post on her story, she uploaded a video explaining things further.

"Hey guys, so I'm down here at the bottom of Fenway, I have everyone here, they just cleared the stage. Um, so, ugh, it's—every time the lightning strikes we have to wait 20 minutes and, ah, it just keeps striking, so what we were hoping for was to fill the room back up, um, by 10 o'clock, at least do an hour-long show, um, that's what we were hoping for bare minimum," she said.

"Worst case scenario we reschedule for Saturday so, I don't know, I'm crossing my fingers. And I'm down here with all the girls, just hoping."

WBZ reporter Brandon Truitt took to X as the events transpired to keep people updated.

"Lana Del Rey's concert at Fenway Park has been delayed. Fans told to "seek shelter immediately." Field has been evacuated," he wrote in his first post.

"Lana has polled her fans on instagram. She's offered a one hour show (curfew) or reschedule to Saturday. It appears she is moving forward with a one hour set starting at 10:30pm," he said in another.

Finally, he added: "Concert has started but will she play past the curfew? Only US show on the calendar so far and her first stadium show."

This year Del Rey has a handful of scheduled shows, having first performed in the U.S. before marking her way to Spain, Italy and Portugal and then back to the U.S. for her Fenway Park concert.

Her next performance is at Rock en Seine on August 21 in Saint-Cloud, France, followed by the Reading Festival on August 24 in the U.K. Her last concert will be at the Leeds Festival, where she will perform on August 25.
