Watch Taylor Swift's Backup Dancer Accidentally Smack Her in the Face During Eras Tour Show

Entertainment gossip and news from Newsweek's network of contributors

She can do it with a broken heart — and even with an onstage mishap!

When Taylor Swift's worldwide Eras Tour isn't smashing record after record, becoming more and more a pop culture phenonemon, and giving the tens of thousands of fans packed to the stadium rafters the 3.5-hour show of their lives, it's jokingly referred to as the Errors Tour because of small things going wrong on stage night after night.

The most recent onstage accident occurred during Edinburgh Night 2 — July 8 — when Swift, 34, was accidentally smacked in the face by the elaborate feathers of her backup dancer's fan while performing "I Can Do it With a Broken Heart" from The Tortured Poets Department portion of the set.

In a TikTok video of the viral — yet nearly imperceptible moment — Swift, 34, sings the line, "Lights, camera, b****, smile," while dancer Kam Saunders waves out the feathered fan, which accidentally catches the "But Daddy I Love Him" artist right in the cheek.

"It's like punching your boss on the face by accident lol 😂," one fan wrote

Others thought the mistake was so subtle — and so quick — they couldn't even make out what was going on.

"What happened?" someone asked, to which another user replied: "Exactly!! shes so good you could barley spot it😉😂."

Others still were just here for the camraderie between Swift and her dancers.

"I adore Cam [sic], and in my head they're besties, and have sleepovers. 🤣🤷‍♀️," another fan surmised.

Saunders, for his part, has already been making his own headlines during the European leg of Swift's Eras Tour run. Not only does he do the "1, 2, 3, 4" countdown in "I Can Do it With a Broken Heart," he endeared himself to the Scottish crowd on June 7, her first Eras show in Edinburgh, when, instead of repeating the "like, ever" line in "We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together," he declared "Nae chance!" into the mic.

In addition to his role on tour with Swift, Kam also helped form an invisible string between her and boyfriend Travis Kelce: His brother, Khalen Saunders, played on the Kansas City Chiefs with Kelce.

Correction 6/10/2024, 4:05p.m. ET: This article was updated to properly reflect Swift's quote.
