Christina Applegate Talks Wishes for 'The Days I Have Left' After MS News

Christina Applegate has spoken about two specific ambitions she has and hopes to fulfill "with the days I have left."

The film star was inundated with support after speaking out in view of her 1.6 million followers on X, formerly Twitter, on Thursday.

The 52-year-old name-checked actress Shirley MacLaine and singer Cher in her latest post about the "things" she wants to accomplish.

Her candid remarks come three years after the actor was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis (MS) and 13 years on from undergoing treatment for early-stage breast cancer.

Applegate said: "There are things I want to do with the days I have left in life.

"I want to work with Shirley MacLaine and do shots with Cher! And yes my days are so big. Just saying."

Her online update quickly garnered attention from fans, with @hochalicious replying: "You're just a beautiful woman inside and out. I hope you get to do everything you ever wanted and more. Best to you!"

@Essjayjay echoed the sentiment: "Love you Christina! Keep reaching for your dreams. I have had MS since 2005 and keep chasing my dreams. We can't let MS defeat us. We are much too young for that!"

@bettyrohan tweeted: "I hope you get to fulfil your dreams and 10,000 more. You have given so much of your life to make us smile. The world owes it to you to make you smile back."

Meanwhile @TheMrsSteely added: "Fellow MS Warrior, cheering you on."

Applegate's talk of wanting to "work" with Terms of Endearment star MacLaine, 90, comes a year after saying her days filming on set were likely to be over due to MS.

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the autoimmune disease affects the brain and spinal cord (central nervous system). In many cases, MS can cause permanent disability and even death.

In a May 2023 interview with Vanity Fair, Applegate stated that she couldn't "even imagine going to set right now."

Referencing her Dead To Me co-star Linda Cardellini, she said: "I'm probably not going to work on camera again, but I'm so glad that I went out with someone who is by far the greatest actress I've ever worked with in my entire life, if not the greatest human I've ever known.

"I can do voiceover stuff because I have to support my family and keep my brain working."
