Woman Gets Unexpected Visitor While Showering: 'Embarrassed'

The video of a woman whose shower was interrupted by a pet with a unique fashion sense has gone viral.

Leyla the pit bull surprised her owner (@pharaohsis) by walking into the bathroom sporting a rather bizarre hair accessory—the lid of a trash can.

"Did you go in the trash can again when I told you not to? This is what happens.

"Come here, I'll take it off. Come here. Let me take it off of you," the owner said in the video, which garnered 861,500 views and 127,600 likes on TikTok.

The owner, who was showering, repeatedly tried to usher Leyla toward her so she could help her out of her improvised helmet.

But the pooch would not listen and just stood blankly in the doorway. The owner, stuck in the shower, could not stop laughing as her hound stood watching her with her trash can headpiece.

A second pit bull then appeared. This one proceeded to approach the owner, while the other, still sporting the helmet, remained in the doorway, unperturbed.

"She wanted to be a space cadet," Pharaohsis said in the video's caption.

TikTok users were left in stitches by the dog's antics.

"Ground control to Major Mom," one commenter joked. "Houston, we have a problem," Michele said.

"She's so embarrassed," one user said. "The other dog poking in, like 'mom I tried to tell her,'" one TikToker said.

"She was like 'while you over there laughing YOU need to come over here and take this off,'" Angie Valdez said.

Many commenters assumed Leyla didn't go to her owner because she was scared she would be given a bath.

Curious and food-centered dogs might develop a habit of trying to get into the household garbage.

A blog post by Lomi, a smart composting brand, advised using a trash can strap lock or a deterrent spray to keep curious pooches away.

Other deterrents include getting a dog-proof garbage can, for example one with a foot pedal, keeping the trash can out of reach or training your pooch not to go near waste.
