Lorraine D. Pollack, 90, a longtime Florida resident, passed away peacefully at her residence on Wednesday, July 3, 2024. Born in Chicago, Illinois on October 15, 1933, Lorraine moved to Miami as a child and moved to Cape Coral in 1989. She attended the University of Florida and was part of the Alpha Chi Omega sorority. Lorraine was a legal secretary and also worked for Florida International University in the Student Government/Student Affairs department where she received the Top Employee of the Year award. Lorraine enjoyed playing tennis and bunco with friends and family but focused her time on raising 3 children. She was the master planner of family camping trips multiple times a year that included trips to Pennsylvania, Washington DC, many locations across the Southeast and from coast to coast within Florida. She spent most of her free time supporting her children in Boy/Girl Scouts and cheering them on at various athletic endeavors including swimming, football, baseball, diving, bowling and many more activities. Her commitment and devotion to her family was second to none. After moving to Cape Coral in 1989, Lorraine was the President of the New Resident Club and organized “Club 90”. She was a member of the Nauti-Skippers Boating club, started a Bunco group and created the daytime holiday canal boat parade. She was a loving wife to Myron (Bo) Pollack (1933-2015) and a devoted mother to sons, Glenn (Cape Coral), Wayne (Bethlehem, Georgia) and daughter, Susan (San Jose, California) and grandmother to grandsons, Luke and Lance. Memorials can be made to the Cape Coral Animal Shelter (www.capecoralanimalshelter.com).
