An elderly Deltona woman known to feed ducks in a lake behind her home was found dead in the water on Sunday, the Volusia County Sheriff's Office said.
Bethania Germosen, 74, was found unresponsive in a lake behind her Fort Smith Boulevard home at 5:25 p.m. Sunday.
Germosen's husband called the sheriff's office after finding his wife floating face down in the lake. Deltona firefighters tried to save Germosen but she was pronounced dead at 5:49 p.m., deputies said.
Germosen frequently fed ducks and turtles in the lake behind her home. It was reported that she had some recent and long-term medical issues and could not swim.
No foul play is suspected.
