On Tuesday, the Central Bureau of Investigation arrested two more individuals from Nalanda and Gaya in Bihar in the NEET-UG exam paper leak case.

According to NDTV reports, the CBI has arrested Ranjit Singh and Sunny. Sunny is a candidate, while Ranjit Singh is reported to be the father of another candidate involved in the case.

The CBI has so far arrested six people in Bihar for the NEET-UG paper leak case, two in connection with alleged manipulation in Latur, one in Godhra and one from Dehradun in connection with a general conspiracy, they said.

After the NEET-UG 2024 results were declared on June 4, widespread allegations of irregularities and demands for a re-examination echoed across the country. Over 24 lakh candidates across 4,750 centres in 571 cities, including 14 overseas venues, took the examination.

When the NTA unveiled the results, a staggering 67 students had secured the top rank, including six from the same examination centre in Haryana. This immediately led to allegations of the inflation of marks.

NEET-UG is conducted by the NTA for admissions to MBBS, BDS, AYUSH and other related courses in government and private institutions.
