Who We Are

NCD Child is a global multi-stakeholder coalition championing the rights and needs of children, adolescents, and young people who are living with or at risk of developing non-communicable diseases (NCDs).

our history

Established in September 2011 following the UN- High Level Meeting on NCDs and emerging from the child-focused working group of NCD Alliance, NCD Child was launched to provide a platform for ongoing advocacy by CLAN (Caring & Living as Neighbours) based in Australia.

In March 2012, an inaugural NCD Child Conference was co-convened by CLAN, the Public Health Institute and the Global Health Council, and the resulting Oakland Statement was approved.

Since that time, NCD Child has continued to establish itself as a leading voice for the rights of children and adolescents at risk of, living with and affected by NCDs through participation of global high-level events, development of evidence and policy publications, and building meaningful youth capacity in the NCD space.

our Vision

Be a voice for all children, adolescents and young people living and affected by NCDs.

our mission

The mission for NCD Child is to ensure that issues related to NCDs are addressed and prioritized in national, regional and global policies. Above all, these policies should center around children, adolescents, and young people.

Furthermore, we work to ensure the voices of young people and families are heard in all settings where policies, systems or programs are developed and implemented.
