common childhood NCDs

What are Common Childhood NCDs?

Non-communicable diseases (NCDs), also known as chronic diseases, are of long duration and are the result of a combination of genetic, physiological, environmental and behavioral factors. While they are often associated with adulthood, NCDs have a significant impact on children and adolescents across the life course.  To learn more about NCDs in children, adolescents, and young people, access NCD Child’s first global disease burden publication entitled Children & Non-communicable Disease: Global Burden Report 2019.
