What Young People Need

Children, adolescents and young people living with, or at risk of developing, non-communicable diseases (NCDs) require health care, education, and social and community services specific to their needs and their families’ needs.

Meaningful Youth Engagement

NCD Child recognizes that simply mentioning the importance of children, adolescents and youth in policies and agendas is not enough.

We believe it is critical to provide support and training to young advocates across the globe to build the global capacity of youth to ensure their voices are meaningfully engaged and elevated.

Young people have an important role to play in developing, implementing, and evaluating child-friendly policies.

who we are

NCD Child is a global multi-stakeholder coalition focused on the prevention, treatment, and management of NCDs in children, adolescents, and young people.

What we Do Youth Leaders

what we do

NCD Child advocates for the inclusion of children, adolescents, and young people in the global NCD agenda; inclusion of child and adolescent NCD prevention in the Sustainable Development Goals; promotes both treatment and prevention for addressing the NCD burden; and supports the inclusion of youth and family voices in global and country planning for NCDs.

NCDs and Children

NCDs, also known as chronic diseases, are of long duration and are the result of a combination of genetic, physiological, environmental and behavioral factors. While they are often associated with adulthood, NCDs have a significant impact on children and adolescents across the life course.
