Woman dies after being hit by car, then struck by SEPTA bus in Philadelphia, police say

A woman died after being hit by a car and then a SEPTA bus early Saturday morning in Philadelphia's Wissinoming neighborhood, police said.

According to police, around 1:22 a.m. officers responded to a crash on the 5800 block of Frankford Ave.

Police said the initial investigation revealed that a white Doge Durango was traveling southbound on Frankford Avenue when a 66-year-old woman walked out into the middle of the street.

The Dodge Durango hit the woman, knocking her into northbound lanes, and then she was struck by a SEPTA bus, police said.

Medics responded to the scene and pronounced the woman dead at 1:27 a.m., according to police.

Police said the drivers of the car and SEPTA bus stayed on the scene. The investigation is active and ongoing with the Crash Investigation Division. 

The woman's identity has not yet been released.
