Police said a black Jeep left the area soon after. No arrests were announced.

A man and a woman were dropped off at the hospital, police said, while a third man was taken to another hospital by ambulance. They're all in stable condition.

A confused young man found himself, or rather his car, caught up in the shooting investigation.

"I guess I have to call the police and figure out what's going on," said Eddy, who owns a vehicle in the crosshairs of the shooting.

Earlier in the morning, detectives placed their 20th and final evidence marker right on top of Eddy's car, as they investigated what led to the triple shooting.

"Stuff like this in Brockton has typically been happening a lot lately," said Korey Brown, a Brockton native.

Hearing that two of the three victims were initially in critical condition, but eventually upgraded to stable, struck an emotional chord for Brown.

Brown was heading to work at Tufts Medical Center, where he sees victims of gun violence constantly coming through their doors.

"I deal with this a lot, but just hearing about it in the city of Brockton is disturbing, very disturbing," said Brown. "I was raised here. I went to Brockton high and all that stuff, so growing up there was violence, but it was never at a high peak like it is right now. So, I would definitely like to see it go down."

The shooting remains under investigation.
