Twenty-nine-year-old Wade Wilson officially has a trial date set.
Wilson is accused of killing two Cape Coral women, Kristine Melton and Diane Ruiz, back in October 2019.
Today, cuffed and chained, Wilson stood before a judge for the last time before attorneys began to pick the jurors who would decide his fate.
Wilson is facing the death penalty if convicted. The trial is scheduled for June 3.
Defense attorney Lee Hollander said today there have been challenges in this case. For example, one of Wilson's prior attorneys died while awaiting trial. Another example includes Wilson's attempt to escape jail.
In an interview with NBC2 anchor Kyla Galer, Wilson denied killing the two women. However, an ex-girlfriend of his told us he called her and confessed to the crimes.
