Attorneys seek psychological evaluation for accused killer Wade Wilson

Attorneys representing Wade Wilson, the man accused of murdering two Cape Coral women, have filed a motion requesting a psychological evaluation for their client.Investigators say Wilson allegedly went on a rampage in 2019, killing Diane Ruiz and Kristine Melton.Now, Wilson's attorneys are asserting that he experienced significant psychological events throughout his life, and they argue that an evaluation is crucial for mitigation purposes, according to court documents.The defense, however, cannot pay for the evaluation. They have asked a state organization, the Justice Administrative Commission, to pay for the expenses.Court documents state that the defense believes the total cost of the evaluation should not exceed $10,000.Wilson will be back in court on Monday.
