Orville Peck, the masked country ace and LGBTQ champion with the exquisite baritone, has made it a tradition to put on an annual get-down called Orville Peck’s Rodeo. In previous years, it’s taken place at various California locales and spots like the legendary Red Rocks Amphitheater in Morrison, Colo. A suite of shows set for August won’t be Peck’s (ahem) first rodeo in Nashville, but it’ll be his first Rodeo in town and sixth overall.
There’s a kickoff party Friday, Aug. 23, at The Basement East, the main event is Aug. 24 at Ascend Amphitheater and there’s a closing party Aug. 25 at Brooklyn Bowl.
Friday night features performances from Peck as well as stellar country singer-songwriters Mickey Guyton, Reyna Roberts and Fancy Hagood (get a preview of both Roberts and Hagood at CMA Fest) with Nashville drag queen extraordinaire Alexia Noelle Paris. Saturday, Peck collaborates with Tanya Tucker, and there’s an encore performance from Guyton as well as sets by indie-pop champs Medium Build (a former Nashvillian who you might also catch at Bonnaroo) and Goldie Boutilier; also per tradition, “pope of trash” John Waters is your host on Saturday. Sunday night’s wrap party includes another Peck set plus rockers The Nude Party, an indie-pop rendezvous with Marci and top-notch DJ crew Sparkle City Disco on the wheels of steel.
Tickets will be available to the general public via Ticketmaster at 10 a.m. Wednesday, June 12. Keep an eye out for Peck’s next single “Midnight Ride,” hitting streaming services on June 7 — coming amid his Stampede Tour and in the wake of his duets record Stampede Vol. 1, the track a collaboration with Kylie Minogue and Diplo — and follow Peck on Instagram for updates.
