Red Hot Chili Peppers Give It Away Saturday Night at Bonnaroo

Red Hot Chili Peppers at Bonnaroo 2017

It’s a hazy shade of winter in Nashville right now, but in just a few months, festival season will be upon us. Folks from all over will descend upon Middle Tennessee for Bonnaroo from June 13 through 16, and the lineup for this year’s happening on the Farm has been announced.

There’s a little bit of a shakeup in formatting: Typically, the main stage doesn’t open until Friday, but per the poster, it will be open Thursday night with sets from electronic producers Pretty Lights and Fisher. Post Malone makes his return as a headliner Friday, while Red Hot Chili Peppers go for the three-peat as Saturday’s headliners. Electronic producer and composer Fred Again.. rounds out the headline acts on Sunday.

And there’s lots of action on the undercard as well. Nashville-area talent sure to appear on stages of all sizes throughout the fest includes Brittany Howard, Jason Isbell and the 400 Unit, Michigander, Jake Wesley Rogers, Larkin Poe and the return of Cage the Elephant. Among many other standouts are Megan Thee Stallion, Joey Bada$$, Maggie Rogers, Idles, Khruangbin, Dominic Fike, T-Pain, Medium Build, Diplo, Gary Clark Jr., Thundercat, Key Glock, S.G. Goodman and The Mars Volta. The great Mdou Moctar will return; on the fascinating, more-experimental side of things, don’t miss out on Yves Tumor and Irreversible Entanglements.

There’s lots more. For the jam-inclined, Joe Russo’s Almost Dead is back. For a different kind of jam, this year’s Superjam is The Dashboard Confessional Emo Superjam.
