South Nashville LGBTQ bar Trax will cease operations near June's end, with a replacement location being sought.

The owner of the Fairgrounds Nashville-area business posted an update on Facebook and noted the bar will stay open through June, which is Pride Month.

Located at 1501 Ensley Blvd. near both Wedgewood-Houston and Chestnut Hill, Trax has operated from a small building on the site (with an alternative address of 303 Bianca Paige Way) for at least 15 years. Scene sister publication the Nashville Post was unable to contact the owner (seemingly named Steven Kiss) for details.

Trax’s social media page post notes the gay bar has been operating on a five-year lease signed on Jan. 1, with the property owner, Biota Properties LLC, having now terminated the lease, the owner contends. Biota Properties paid $1 million for the property in March 2022, Metro records show.

“According to the attorneys, I don't have much recourse,” the owner posted.

The social media post noted the Trax owner is eyeing multiple locations for possible relocation.

“I hope to have some more information in the coming week or so,” reads the post. “We plan to relocate, but there is no definite timeline. Any questions ask me, not the gossip groups.”

Trax (sometimes stylized as “TRAX”) is known in part for its drag shows and its location near an old-school railroad bridge.
