DOFL 2024

Clear your calendar for Wednesday, May 8, because it’s almost time for the 22nd edition of Dining Out for Life. The annual event is a major fundraiser for Nashville CARES to empower their efforts to support members of the local community living with HIV. CARES annually serves more than 20,000 individuals in a 17-county footprint in Middle Tennessee, providing targeted education, free and confidential HIV testing and a broad range of comprehensive services to individuals who are at risk for or living with HIV.

Dining Out for Life is an opportunity for area restaurants and diners to come together to help fund these important ongoing efforts, and it couldn’t be easier to participate. All diners need do is visit a participating restaurant or bar for a meal, and the establishment will then contribute a predetermined portion of the proceeds to Nashville CARES.

The helpful DOFL website lists the restaurants and allows for easy sorting of the participants by which meals are offered and what percentage of the tab goes to CARES, so you can maximize the efficiency and impact of your donation. Among the highlight participants are D’Andrews Bakery & Cafe, which is donating 100 percent of the day’s proceeds, and Lipstick Lounge, where they’re hosting a special brunch from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m. on Saturday, May 11, and contributing 100 percent of brunch sales to DOFL.

Nashville restaurant entrepreneur Maher Fawaz is also stepping in a big way, donating 75 percent of sales at all of his restaurants on May 8. This means you can choose between Kalamatas, Epice, Santo and Lola and be sure that you’re helping to make an impact for CARES.

No matter what percentage any participating restaurant is offering, they are all local heroes for taking part in this important venture. They deserve your patronage and thanks, especially on May 8, so get out there and help make a difference!
