Video: Pancrase champ Sidy Rocha suffers gruesome arm injury at SFT 22

Sidy Rocha will have to undergo surgery after fracturing her left forearm in the bantamweight bout.

Brazilian prospect Karine Silva fractured Sidy Rocha’s left forearm during an early armbar attempt in the co-main event of Saturday’s SFT 22 in Sao Paulo, Brazil.

SFT matchmaker Magno Wilson told MMA Fighting on Sunday that Rocha’s team opted against having surgery in Sao Paulo since she had a procedure in the area before. Per Wilson, the MMA fighter will consult with a doctor in her hometown this week and schedule an operation.

Silva (13-4) is now riding a four-fight finishing streak since Aug. 2019. Rocha (12-8-2), who went 2-0 under the Pancrase banner between 2018 and 2019, dropped three of her last four in the Brazilian circuit.
