Heavy rainfall is already occurring across Southern Michigan as tropical moisture from Beryl moves into the region.
As of 3:30 p.m., heavy downpours are along and just south of I-94, remaining nearly stationary. According to the National Weather Service, flooding has already been reported in urban areas and basements from these downpours. A Flood Advisory is in effect for portions of Berrien County until 5:45 p.m. Tuesday to address this.
Rain will continue to move north, with much of Lower Michigan receiving rain by very early Wednesday. Areas along and south of I-96 will see a widespread 2 to 4 inches of rain, with areas along I-94 seeing upward of 6 inches.
Significant flooding is possible along southern areas, as rain will continue for nearly 24 hours straight. Never drive through flood waters. Stay tuned for any additional updates as this system moves toward the area.
