Brett Steven Harris was originally signed by A’s scout James Coffman…graduated from John Hershey High School…redshirted at Houston in 2017 before transferring to Central Arizona College…then batted .324 with a .427 on-base percentage, 10 home runs and 78 RBI in three seasons at Gonzaga University…was named a Collegiate Baseball Third-Team All-American in 2021.

2023

Made his professional debut with the A’s affiliate in the Arizona Complex League and played in two games before he was transferred to High-A Lansing on Aug. 11…appeared in 25 games with the Lugnuts and batted .238 with three home runs and 14 RBI in 27 games overall… added 10 walks and four hit by pitches for a .347 on-base percentage…hit .318 against left-handed pitchers compared to .210 against right-handers…connected for all three of his home runs against righties…started 17 games at third base, four at shortstop and three at second base… made one error each at shortstop and third base…made starts in the five (nine games), two (eight games), six (seven games) and four (one game) spots in the order…made his debut on Aug. 9 at the Giants-Black and singled, walked and drove in a run in two plate appearances…was 2-for-3 (.667) with three RBI in two games when he was moved up to Lansing on Aug. 11…hit .222 with three home runs and 11 RBI in 25 games with the Lugnuts…hit his first professional home run Aug. 14 against Dayton and all three of his home runs came over a five-game stretch from Aug. 14-19…hit his first career grand slam and drove in a career-high four runs Aug. 19 at Great Lakes.
