July 23: SS and CF placed on 10-day IL; 1B designated for assignment; OF , SS , OF , 1B recalled from Triple-A Tacoma
One of Seattle's busiest days of transactions in recent years saw the Mariners lose three players who combined to appear in 1,140 games since Rodríguez made his MLB debut on Opening Day of 2022.

Rodríguez hurt his ankle jumping into the wall in center field during the Mariners' win over the Astros on Sunday. While X-rays came back negative, further testing led to a diagnosis of a high ankle sprain. Then, on Monday, Crawford was hit by the second pitch of the bottom of the first inning on the back of his hand and was removed from the game the next inning.

France, who came to Seattle in a trade with San Diego at the 2020 Trade Deadline, cleared waivers after being placed on them Sunday afternoon.

To replenish the ranks, the Mariners brought up Locklear and Clase, their Nos. 6 and 10 prospects, respectively, from Tacoma, as well as Rivas.

Clase, who started in left field Monday in Seattle, was officially optioned following the game but was recalled due to Rodríguez's trip to the IL, putting him right back in the Mariners' clubhouse Tuesday -- albeit at a different locker.

Locklear (first base) and Marlowe (right field) earned starts Tuesday evening against the Angels. More>>>

July 22: INF selected from Triple-A Tacoma; INF optioned
Vosler, who has played in parts of the past three seasons with the Giants and the Reds, came to the Mariners organization on a Minor League deal in Spring Training. In 89 games with Triple-A Tacoma this year, the 30-year-old batted .289 with an .883 OPS, 20 home runs and a PCL-leading 79 RBIs.

The move puts another left-handed bat in the Seattle lineup, and suggests that the Mariners are giving Vosler a shot to replace Ty France -- who was placed on outright waivers Sunday -- at first base, instead of calling up No. 6 prospect Tyler Locklear. It also gives them more flexibility at the corners, both in the infield and the outfield. Vosler started 54 games at first base for Tacoma but also had 21 starts in right field, while 41 of his 62 Major League starts the past three years came at third base.

Bliss, who was called up on May 27 with Jorge Polanco going on the IL, hit .220 with seven RBIs and five steals, but had only started one game since June 26.

10-DAY/15-DAY INJURED LIST

CF (high right ankle sprain)
Expected return:
TBD
Rodríguez hurt himself leaping into the wall in center field in Seattle's July 21 game against Houston, catching his cleat in the padding hard enough that he left a hole when he fell to the warning track. After a delay, he walked off the field without assistance, and postgame X-rays came back negative, but on July 23, the Mariners placed him on the 10-day IL with a high ankle sprain.

"I don’t know how long it’s going to be," manager Scott Servais said. "It could be a quick turnaround in 10, 11 days. It could be longer. We’ll see. We’ll know more here in the next few days." (Last updated: July 23)

SS (right pinky fracture)
Expected return:
TBD
Crawford was hit on the back of the hand by a changeup on the second pitch of the bottom of the first inning in Seattle's July 22 game against the Angels. He stayed in to run the bases but didn't take the field at short for the top of the second inning, with Dylan Moore replacing him.

It's the second stint on the IL this season for Crawford, who missed about a month with an oblique strain in late April and May. (Last updated: July 23)

OF Dominic Canzone (right adductor strain)
Expected return: August at the earliest
Canzone sustained the injury when making a diving catch on July 7, then he attempted to play through it before the pain became pronounced enough to be pulled in their next game, on July 9 in San Diego. On July 19, Mariners manager Scott Servais said Canzone was still "recovering" and still probably a couple of weeks away from starting a rehab assignment. (Last updated: July 19)

60-DAY INJURED LIST

RHP (right elbow inflammation)
Expected return:
June 2025
Brash is out of the protective brace that he'd been wearing since undergoing Tommy John surgery on May 8 and remains in Arizona recovering. He may join the Mariners in and out in Seattle throughout the remainder of the season. Brash's surgery ended his 2024 season, three months after initially experiencing soreness during his second bullpen session in Spring Training.

Brash had the ulnar collateral ligament in his pitching elbow repaired and a brace installed, which has typically allowed patients to begin physical therapy sooner. That's why the Mariners are hopeful Brash can return in 12 months, potentially as soon as June 2025. (Last updated: June 12)

OF/UTL (torn right Achilles)
Expected return: May 2025
Haggerty tore his right Achilles on May 18, in his second game after getting optioned back to Triple-A Tacoma, and he underwent surgery with Dr. Albert O. Gee at the University of Washington the following week. He then departed for Arizona shortly after to transition his recovery there. Before leaving Seattle, Haggerty mentioned in passing that his timeline would be around 12 months if all goes well with his subsequent rehab. (Last updated: June 12)

RHP (right UCL surgery)
Expected return: 2025
Kowar was transferred to the 60-day IL shortly after receiving word that he would need to undergo Tommy John surgery, which ended his season before it even began. The former first-round Draft pick was among the leading candidates to win a bullpen spot before suffering the injury in his second Cactus League outing. (Last updated: March 10)
