Joe Swash wreaked havoc on the set of Battle in the Box, forcing bosses to halt filming altogether.

Set to premiere on July 16, 2024, the UK TV Dave programme, fronted by Jimmy Carr, will see two celebrities locked in a box for the course of 24 hours, with nothing but a toilet, a toothbrush and a screen featuring the British-Irish comedian, as they will go head to head in a string of physical and mental challenges.

To make matters worse, each box will be growing or shrinking, depending on whether the stars inside of them win rounds - a tense challenge Joe Swash set himself up for.

Unfortunately, things went wrong for the former EastEnders actor when his survival skills led him to cook raw sausages on top of a toaster backstage.

The Sun reports this Sunday that Joe Swash's meal didn't pan out as he'd hoped as it all resulted in a bad case of food poisoning with Stacey Solomon's other half running to the toilet in his box.

However, Joe's bad luck took another turn as he clogged the toilet, forcing bosses to stop filming altogether. Comedic gold for one source who said: "Joe's time in the box was hilarious and he's brilliant telly for fans." The TV insider added: "But even he couldn't plan the scenes when he made himself sick. He's learnt his lesson the hard way."

Joe Swash was not the only star to give up his cosy nights with Stacey and their children for the empty box as the line-up of the upcoming programme includes former Strictly Come Dancing star Ellie Taylor, who took on the challenges while heavily pregnant. Made In Chelsea's Jamie Laing and comedians Katherine Ryan and Seann Walsh also tried their luck.

Celebrities taking part in the show have to battle for everyday items to fill up their boxes, fighting over beds, tables and chairs, among other objects. But how will it play out?

This comes after a source has claimed that Stacey Solomon may upset their balance with a new podcast. While she's a the helm of multiple successful shows on the box, the presenter and Loose Women panellist wishes to launch a relationship podcast to give out tips on family and romantic life.

One insider, however, has pointed out she could be "asking too much from her beau" as the podcast may need them to share details of their life away from the limelight.
