Jeremy Clarkson has shut down Kaleb Cooper.

The former Top Gear presenter abruptly replied to his Clarkson's Farm co-star on Instagram after he made a joke about his wife Lisa Hogan. The 64-year-old Amazon Prime filmmaker took to his social media page to celebrate his spouse's 51st birthday.

"Birthday girl," he penned alongside a sweet smiling snap of Hogan wearing a top hat, beaming into the camera. Amongst well-wishes from family, friends and fans was a quip from 25-year-old Kaleb – and it didn't appear to go down well with Jeremy.

"Now the question is did Lisa like my singing this morning happy birthday," Kaleb wrote under the upload, making sure to add the laughing face emoji. Jeremy seemingly didn't see the funny side, simply replying "No", as Lisa jumped in to make her comment.

She said that she "adored all perfectly sung first five words", adding: "I really did, t'was perfection." Jeremy didn't leave anything else, or add to Lisa's message to Kaleb. It wasn't just birthday wishes filling the comments section.

Fans of the hit Amazon series had a different kind of request for the couple, flooding the post with comments urging Jeremy to pop the question to Lisa. One fan said: "When are you gonna propose." While another chimed in with: "Marry her for crying out loud". A third echoed: "Marry that woman. She is stunning and has such a good personality."

Another follower added: "Better put a ring on it! Happy Birthday Lisa." While someone else quipped: "The council has approved marriage. You need to walk this woman down the aisle." Despite the barrage of suggestions, there was no hint of engagement news.

Fans were in for a treat as they witnessed Jeremy spring an unexpected surprise on his Irish model girlfriend in the latest instalment of Clarkson's Farm. He led Lisa by the hand through the fields, before teasing her with: "I've got a big surprise for you."

Curious and perhaps hopeful, Lisa responded with: "Ah, is it a proposal? Every time you say you've got a surprise I think 'he's going to propose'. Every time." Their love story has played out on our screens during the farm documentary series Clarkson's Farm for three seasons now, but they have been swept up in a romance for seven years together.
