Soap viewers will once again see schedule disruptions on Wednesday night thanks to the Euro 2024 coverage across ITV and BBC.

Even Love Island found itself pushed back on Tuesday night, to allow UK viewers the chance to watch the England vs Slovenia match, which not everyone was keen on. But with yet more matches underway on Wednesday, how does it impact our soap and TV viewing?

Normally we have Emmerdale, EastEnders and Coronation Street all on on a Wednesday, with the first two soaps airing at 7:30pm, followed by an hour-long Corrie at 8pm. That's not the same this time though, as BBC One and ITV1 will be playing more Euros coverage.

EastEnders is still on air though, although a day behind in comparison to what episode should have aired. BBC iPlayer has been dropping the episodes as usual each morning, but the soap itself is instead airing on BBC2 at 7:30pm.

While it will seemingly move back to its normal channel of BBC One later this week, for Wednesday's episode it's BBC Two. The same cannot be said for the other two soaps which sadly will not air at all.

Viewers are getting lesser episodes of both soaps this week, and on Wednesday night both Emmerdale and Corrie are scrapped entirely. No earlier episodes and no airing on other channels, nothing at all.

Instead, ITV is airing more football while viewers will finally get some Emmerdale back in their lives on Thursday. Corrie will be back on screens on Friday, while further disruption is expected.

As for Love Island, the move in timings on Tuesday appeared to be just for the England match, so it will possibly happen again for their next one. That said, fans of the ITV2 dating series can watch all the villa drama as normal on Wednesday as it returns to its 9pm time slot.

Love Island had actually dropped the last episode on ITVX for anyone that did want to watch it over the football, according to eagle-eyed viewers. Sadly not many viewers realised this until during the episode leaving them annoyed, having to wait until 10pm to see what went on instead.

So here's the soap schedule in full for Wednesday: EastEnders is on at 7:30pm on BBC Two, and Emmerdale and Coronation Street are not on at all. Love Island will air at 9PM on ITV2.
