Coronation Street's Lauren Bolton actress Cait Fitton has teased what is to come for her character following her shock comeback.

Lauren made her onscreen return to the ITV soap on Monday night, months after seemingly being killed off. Actress Cait has not been onscreen since February, while there were flashbacks shown weeks ago from the day Lauren vanished.

But on Monday we finally learned Lauren was very much alive, after a brutal attack by Joel Deering months earlier. The truth about what happened to her and where she has been all this time will soon come to light, after her comeback on Monday.

She was shown secretly visiting Roy Cropper in hospital, after he collapsed after suffering a heart attack. Joel happened to be at the hospital and appeared to spot Lauren entering Roy's room, while it's not known yet if he realised it was her.

It's yet to be shown what happened following his attack on her, but it seems there's plenty of drama ahead. Speaking exclusively to The Mirror, actress Cait promised "twists and turns" with "lots coming up" in the fallout to her comeback.

She told us: "There's so many more twists and turns to come. It wouldn't be Coronation Street if it didn't. I am very excited with what's to come after this big episode. I'm scared to see what the outcome is gonna be, but I'm excited to get back out there and tell people. There are lots of things coming up, lots of things."

Just months ago we saw flashbacks that revealed Joel was Lauren's mystery secret lover and the person harassing her. We also saw him brutally attack her and leave her for dead, while no body was ever found leading to some viewers being convinced she would one day return.

But with Lauren now back, is Joel's downfall looming and will he finally be exposed for his crimes? It's not yet clear whether Lauren will be sticking around on the ITV soap, or if it is a temporary return.

Viewers watching the episode were convinced Joel would find Lauren, with one posting on X: "She may be alive now, but I do wonder how long for with Joel on the loose!" Another said: "Joel's face when he sees Lauren."
