ITV viewers were left frustrated after tonight's instalment of The Celebrity Chase Special.

Hosted by Bradley Walsh, the Celebrity spin-off of the hit daytime game show welcomes four celebrity contestants each episode, and this week, radio DJ Melvin Odoom, sports legend Carl Fogarty, former EastEnders Bonnie Langford, and British gymnast Louis Smith taking on the Chasers.

The group of four celebrities answered general knowledge questions and played their tactics right in order to get themselves into the Final Chase, where they could win a cash pot worth thousands of pounds for charity. As the episode kicked off tonight, Melvin was the first star to take on the Chaser, as he battled it out against none other than Anne Hegerty.

As ever, Melvin was tasked with working with the other stars to play strategically and answer the general knowledge questions against the clock - but ITV viewers and Anne herself were left baffled over one of the first questions handed out to Melvin.

As he tried his best to race the clock and beat Anne, Melvin was delivered one of the easiest questions this series, as the quiz game challenged him to answer: "What is the name of a person who takes care of a lighthouse".

Naturally, eagle-eyed viewers immediately knew the answer to be a 'lighthouse keeper' before Melvin and Anne both delivered the correct answers to the question which unimpressed fans of the show labelled as 'ridiculous'. "I love the Chase but god they go sooooo easy on these celebs as if they are thick as s**t. A five-year-old could have guessed that," one fumed.

"What a ridiculously easy question!!! I suppose it is for charity so it's all good though," another echoed. "OMG imagine if Melvin had of guessed that wrong lol. Imagine he said lighthouse occupier haha," someone else quipped.

More viewers suggested that Anne was also unimpressed with the simple question as she remained completely silent when host Bradley called out her correct response. "Anne is MAD," one viewer joked. While another ITV viewer mocked: "I think Anne just wildly guessed that and got it right."

The chasers taking part in the current Celebrity Chase specials are Anne Hegerty, Mark Labbett, Jenny Ryan, Paul Sinha, Shaun Wallace and Darragh Ennis.
