Carol Vorderman was among many people suggesting Laura Kuenssberg should be replaced by the BBC after fans claimed the broadcaster made a 'disgraceful' comment about Ed Davey.
The 47-year-old presenter interviewed Liberal Democrats leader Ed Davey over the weekend and said his tactic of 'ruthlessly targeting seats where the Conservative had held them' worked out. During her Sunday politics show, she said: "This election made history for all sorts of reasons, and when you put the votes together, the smaller parties got their highest ever share of the votes."
Laura added: "Maybe it was the bungee jumping, or maybe given that the Liberal Democrats want to change the voting system, ironically perhaps they just learned how to play it better by ruthlessly targeting seats where the Conservatives had held them." A video was then shown of Ed and his party having a good time.

Introducing him, she said: "Well there he is, Ed Davey, the happiest man in Britain, he looked like there, celebrating winning more than 70 seats, and he joins us this morning from southwest London. Ed Davey, congratulations, I suppose, on your more than 70 seats."
Countdown star Carol along with many fans were irritated by Laura's use of 'I suppose' in her introduction and they called for her to be replaced by Victoria Derbyshire. One fan even branded the presenter 'opinionated and often downright rude'.
Carol tweeted: "Time for #bbclaurak to become #bbcVictoriaD don’t you think? @vicderbyshire Quite extraordinary. Vic D is exceptional and gives them all a hard time if that is what’s needed. She knows her details and cuts through with any bias. BBC is lucky to have her."
One annoyed X user posted: "Is it just me or is it time that Laura Kuenssberg was dropped? She’s far too opinionated and often downright rude," and another posted: "When she said, 'Congratulations, I suppose' I physically jumped. The BBC needs to look closely at her performance. She is not employed to put her own opinion forward."
Another viewer commented: "Disgraceful from Laura Kuenssberg. Almost worth a formal complaint." One author shared a clip of the introduction and said: "Laura Kuenssberg’s diabolic introduction to her interview with Ed Davey. No spoilers. Wait until the end. It’s worth it."
One said under Carol's tweet: "I thought her comment to Ed Davey ('congratulations I suppose') was disgraceful. She's clearly not impartial - and is very rude." The Mirror have contacted the BBC for comment.
