Anyone in a bid to upgrade their movie night, series binge-watching, or soap-scrounging telly may want to save this surprising deal. AO has taken a huge £750 off the price of Samsung’s Series 8 4K Smart TV.

The UE85CU8000 model comes with a clear 4K resolution and HDR10+ so viewers can soak up the sharp details of every programme they watch. Its Ultra HD, smart TV, and Q-symphony features are the cause for its one thousand pound (plus) price tag…until today.

AO has deducted a massive £750 off the price of the 4K gogglebox, dropping the price to £1,249 - the amount saved could get shoppers a second TV for a different room and more.

TV shoppers will also save £250 on a soundbar if they use the code SOUND250 when they buy the TV - just remember to paste it into the online checkout before you pay. The add-on accessory helps amplify sound from your TV across the room and is more clear making busy, action-filled scenes easier to hear.

It works with Amazon’s Alexa and Google’s voice assistants, so you can talk at the screen to move around instead of picking up the remote. A smart feature seen on many other devices these days including the Sky Glass and the higher-end Frame TV, also from Samsung.

To use smart features on this TV, shoppers will need to create or sign into a Samsung Account. Without signing in, you’ll only have access to standard channels and external devices, like consoles or Blu-ray players. You can see the full sale here.

It's not the only deal for TV fans this weekend, in fact, there are plenty circulating from Sky, Amazon, and LG. The Sky Glass device, which comes with the provider's Sky Stream software built-in, is now £140 cheaper to buy this weekend - although it's not known how much longer it'll be around.

As a team that covers Sky deals regularly it's well known for refreshing its deals on select Monday mornings, so essentially Sky fans could only have a couple of days left to bag the £140 contract discount - but we can't say for certain.

In other TV news, the newest UK streaming platform, Freely, has just become available for shoppers. As the name suggests, it's a completely free service and allows users to switch between live programmes and on-demand apps like Disney+, BBC iPlayer and Netflix (the biggies). And like Sky, it now comes integrated into smart TVs from Hisense, which are available to buy at Argos.

Our tech Editor Dave Snelling has been covering the newest addition having tried and tested it. He said: "Just like Sky Glass, Freely will be built into certain TVs with users simply plugging things in, typing in their Wi-Fi password and then accessing live and on-demand content without paying monthly fees.

"Having put it to the test it works pretty seamlessly, you can easily scroll through channels such as BBC1, ITV and Channel 4 along with seeing what's up next. If someone knocks on the door you can even pause the live action for up to 15 minutes then instantly start things again from where you left off." You can read the full review, here.
