Golf coach Matthew Tipper has had his say on his recent split with Adrian Meronk, having worked alongside the LIV Golf star for 14 years.

Meronk - who became one of LIV's newest recruits earlier this year - has opted to part ways with Tipper having spent all of his professional career with the short-game guru. Tipper took to social media earlier this week to confirm the departure, admitting that he 'respects' the Cleeks GC star's decision.

"After 14 years sometimes things just come to an end," he said in a statement. "Last week Adrian decided he wanted to go a new way and I have to respect that decision. Im proud of everything that we achieved together.

"I knew in 2010 he was a great talent and he has only gone on to prove that all over the world. To Pietro Gobinho and Stuart Beck, thank you for being amazing caddies just when Adrian needed you. Your support and co-operation has been invaluable and I thank you both.

"I want to publicly thank Adrian for allowing me to sit in the best seat in the house for 14 years and talk a little." Revealing his plans to now link up with fellow coach James Sieckmann, venturing over to the Korn Ferry Tour, he added: "It's now time to start my new chapter in the USA alongside my mentor James Sieckmann.

"I'm excited to go to my first Korn Ferry Event later next month. As always tomorrow we begin again. #yourshortgamesolution." Tipper has worked alongside 30-year-old Meronk whilst the Polish star has announced himself as one of the top players in Europe in recent years.

His hot form in 2023 was recognised in January, after Meronk was named the DP World Tour's Player of The Year at the Dubai Desert Classic. Just weeks later though, the Pole left the Wentworth-based circuit in shock after opting to make a mega-money move to their LIV Golf rivals.

The move came after Meronk was left out of Luke Donald's European Ryder Cup in Italy last Autumn, despite his impressive form on the DP World Tour. At the time his former coach Tipper commented on the Ryder Cup snub, admitting he was 'proud' of his client's efforts on the course.

"Obviously we’re disappointed as we’ve had a great campaign and thought we had done enough, he said on social media at the time“It will hurt for a bit, but we will move on, and we wish the team well in Italy and we will be supporting them in the hopes of bringing the cup back to Europe.

“I’m incredibly proud of Adrian and his play this year and a special thanks to his caddy Stuart Beck who has been outstanding. As a team we will regroup and as always tomorrow we will begin again.”
