Kylian Mbappe was dropped from Paris Saint-Germain's Ligue 1 fixture with Marseille because he was reportedly watching El Clasico.

France World Cup winner Mbappe was left on the bench for the clash at Orange Velodrome on Sunday - although came off the bench in the 62nd minute.

His introduction proved pivotal as the forward found the net three minutes after coming on to break the deadlock before Julian Draxler netted a second in injury time.

Mbappe is said to have turned up 25 minutes late with Adrien Rabiot, for a team meeting ahead of the match with Marseille.

And it has now been reported among French media that the 19-year-old was sat in front of Barcelona vs Real Madrid, two clubs he has been linked with, instead of arriving to Thomas Tuchel's meeting.

“It's a disciplinary decision [for Rabiot and Mbappe],” Tuchel said at his post-match press conference. “The collective is always more important than individuals.

“I hate playing without Kylian in a match like that. He gave a good answer, but I do not like it. It's a bit difficult.”

Former Barca star Neymar backed Tuchel over his decision to drop Mbappe.

"This is between them and the coach," Neymar said. "Yes, they have to respect the schedules, and they ended up failing in that part.

"They know, they are great players, important to our team, and we end up suffering because of it. But this is an inner thing.'
