Gabby Logan has shared a throwback video which showed her predicting the future before fulfilling her dream as a broadcaster.
Logan, 50, is one of the most respected presenters in the industry, having first started on the TV screens with ITV in 1998. She initially began as a presenter for On the Ball, which was a Saturday lunchtime show about football.
Since that, Logan has also worked for the BBC, Sky Sports and Amazon Prime at major sporting events including the World Cup and Olympics. Logan always had dreams of becoming the best in the business - after admitting she wanted legendary presenter Gay Byrne's job in 1991.
Aged 18 at the time, Logan spoke to Byrne at the Rose of Tralee about her dream of being a broadcaster. Whilst explaining her ambitions for the future, Leeds-born Logan revealed she had hopes of becoming a TV presenter but admitted she knew it would be "hard work".
And 32 years larer, Logan revisited the famous interview where she could be seen wearing a gleeful red dress and donning curled blonde hair, tweeting: "Believe."
In the clip she is asked about her plans before revealing: "I am taking a year out before going to university, I am going to travel and work and do the things I didn't have time to do because gymnastics took up so much time. I am going to do a degree in politics at Durham and then I want to go into TV, I want your job!
"I would like to be a TV presenter. I know it is hard work. I worked on the Today newspaper last year to get sports journalism grounding and I found it a bit different to what I expected. There were 12 men on the football desk and they all treated me like a lad. They would swear at me and take me down to the pub."
Reacting to Logan's tweet, Chelsea women's boss Emma Hayes said: "Amazing Gabby. Dream big they say." Ex-BT Sport presenter Des Kelly added: "This clip is great. I was ordered to 'look after the new work experience girl' at Today. "I didn't swear v.much as I recall, but the Tory Sports Minister didn't like my questions when we went to a press briefing. @GabbyLogan didn't need any looking after. She knew her path. Bravo."
Fans also got involved to react and pay tribute to Logan. One said: "And it's thanks to women like you, Gabby, that more of us are here now. I grew up, knowing a career as a female sports broadcaster was possible, because of you." Another continued: "This is the best #throwbackthursday I did ever see!"
Logan is now at the peak of her powers, working for the BBC at the Women's World Cup on both BBC One and BBC Two. She also presented the Six Nations on the same channels earlier this year.
