We all love our pets, but is yours extra special?

We want to hear all about them as we launch our search for Britain's most brilliant pets. Nominations open today for the Mirror People's Pet Awards, with Webbox.
We are looking for dogs, cats and more who have saved lives and changed lives, rescue animals who have overcome impossible odds, and pets you just can't help falling in love with. There are also categories for adults and children who make an incredible difference to the lives of animals.
Last year's inspiring winners included Max, a Staffie bred for fighting before being rescued who became an ambassador of hope in a bid to break the stigma associated with his breed.
We also honoured Mr London Meow, a hospital therapy cat beloved by patients and medics alike, and support dog Matilda, who formed an amazing bond with a young girl left disabled by a stroke.

We love a cute pet pic, and so do our friends at Webbox.
This week, as we open nominations for the People’s Pet Awards, we’re looking back at last year’s winner of the Webbox Joy of Pets Award.
This is Maggie, who was rescued from the streets of Lebanon, where she was horrifically abused and used for target practice.
She survived against all the odds, and after being brought to Britain she became a much-loved therapy dog bringing peace and comfort to others.
Plight of throne away ‘royal family’
There was a happy ending for two terrified tabbies dumped in a cardboard box on the steps of an Essex vets charity. Staff at the PDSA hospital in Vange, who named them Charles and Camilla, gave the cats a check-up and discovered Camilla was heavily pregnant.
She gave birth to five healthy kittens just a day later, and then rescue charity Cat Squad South Essex stepped in to help.
Mark Davies of Cat Squad, said: "This was a sad and urgent situation so one of our fosterers kindly made room and took them temporarily until a permanent fosterer could be found".
The charity is now looking for new homes for the cats and kittens, who are all doing well after their ordeal. For more information visit catsquad.org
