A clearly distressed Brandi Wright, who resides within close proximity to the murder scene, recounted her perception of the strange noise at approximately 12:30 a.m.

She said: "It just had started raining, and my mom had said, 'Did you hear that? It sounds like thunder. And I told her, I was like, 'I don't think that was thunder.' It sounded just like a gunshot because it was a lot louder than thunder."

Visibly perturbed while speaking of the tragic incident, Wright conveyed her shock upon receiving a call from a neighbour informing her of the grim occurrence the following morning. She noted with disbelief, stating: "Nothing's ever happened like this in this area."

Struggling with vulnerability, she iterated how unnerving it is to no longer feel safe even in one's own home, confiding, "I live right around the corner, and it's just crazy how it's so close to home. You can't even stay safe in your own home anymore. It's insane. I'm really nervous about it ... I've been living here all my life, and it's just crazy to know about this."
