Princess Beatrice and her husband appeared to get the giggles as they led the stars in Wimbledon's Royal Box today.

Beatrice and her husband Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi looked cosy as they shared a joke while watching the quarter-final action on Centre Court at this year's Wimbledon championships. For the outing, mum-of-one Beatrice wore a summery floral belted dress while Edo looked smart in a brown jacket and burgundy tie.

The pair were seen chatting to the others in the Royal Box today, who included the actress Sienna Miller, comedian Stephen Fry, the writer Lena Dunham and comedian Michael McIntyre. And as the on-court action between Jannik Sinner and Daniil Medvedev got tense, both Beatrice and Edo were seen enjoying the match.

A host of royals have attended Wimbledon so far this year, including the Duchess of Gloucester. But one royal yet to attend is the patron of the All England Club, the Princess of Wales.

Kate has made one public appearance since sharing that she is having cancer treatment following abdominal surgery in January. It is unclear whether she will be ready to present trophies at the tennis tournament during the finals, which take place on Saturday and Sunday.

The All England Club chair Debbie Jevans hasn't ruled out an appearance from Kate, who has presented the trophies since 2016, confirming that organisers are "staying flexible" over who will conduct the trophy presentation if the Princess is unable to do so this year. It has been reported that the Duchess of Gloucester could step in.

Jevans told Telegraph Sport: "We're hopeful that the Princess of Wales will be able to present the trophies as the Club's patron, but her health and recovery is the priority. We don't know what we don't know. All we've said is that we'll work with her and give her as much flexibility as possible."

To the delight of the public, she made a return to the spotlight for Trooping the Colour just last month. At the time, the Princess shared a health update, saying that she is "making good progress" but "there are good days and bad days". She also shared her hopes that she can "join a few public engagements over the summer" while also noting, "I am not out of the woods yet".

And now royal fans are keeping their fingers crossed that Kate will feel well enough to attend the tournament and potentially present the trophies. Writing on X, one fan said: "I hope the Princess of Wales is able to attend and fulfil her role as patron! Wishing Catherine all the best!"

Another said: "Wouldn't it be lovely if Princess Catherine the Princess of Wales was able to attend the men's and women's final at this year's Wimbledon Championships." While another said: "I do hope the Princess of Wales will attend Wimbledon this year if she feels well."

Kate is a huge tennis fan and it is one of her favourite annual events to enjoy with her children. In 2023, Kate attended the Wimbledon final with her two oldest children, son Prince George and Princess Charlotte, while her youngest, Prince Louis, stayed at home.
