Members of the Royal Family may be laden with fancy names and grand titles - but it seems they love nothing better than giving each other cheeky nicknames.

And one royal once gave away a rather unflattering three-word nickname they gave to Prince William - and ended up in "so much trouble". It came when Mike Tindall, the husband of King Charles' niece Zara Tindall let slip his moniker for the Prince of Wales. Former rugby player Mike made the admission on a special podcast he recorded alongside Zara, with Rugby League legend Rob Burrow, who is living with Motor Neurone Disease. During the chat, Rob was keen to know if the pair have any nicknames for each other or for other members of the Royal Family, including William, Kate, King Charles or Queen Camilla.

And speaking about William, Mike revealed: "For the Prince of Wales, he is known as One Pint Willy. He is known to me as One Pint Willy because he is not the best of drinkers, coming from a sport where it is built on the social aspect and a couple of beers being sunk quite often. That is one I will definitely give away for the Prince of Wales." However, after the revelation, a giggling Zara warned her husband: "Oh my god. You are in so much trouble."

Fortunately, William saw the funny side of Mike's admission as several weeks later, he met Rob for himself at Headingley Stadium in Leeds to present Rob and his former teammate Kevin Sinfield with their CBEs for their outstanding efforts to raise money and awareness of motor neurone disease.

As Rob welcomed William to Leeds, he alluded to the secrets Mike had told him on his podcast and it prompted William to say as he giggled: "It was you who got the nicknames out of him - he apologised to me about that. When I saw him, I said Mike, when you say you're not going to mention your nicknames doesn't mean you mention mine, it's not fair'. I'm sure it's quite fun with Mike."

William has taken time off from royal duties over the past few weeks since his wife the Princess of Wales revealed her cancer diagnosis at the end of March.

The form of cancer has not been disclosed, but the future queen began a course of preventative chemotherapy late in February, and is said to have a positive mindset for her recovery and is in good spirits, describing herself as "well and getting stronger every day".

Since then, William and Kate have been spending the Easter break with their children Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis as they adjust to Kate's cancer diagnosis. William continues to balance supporting his wife and family and maintaining his official duties as he has done since her operation in January, where she underwent major abdominal surgery.

The prince is due to return to public duties after his children return to school following the Easter break. It is not known how long Kate will be receiving treatment but it is understood she may be keen to attend events as and when she feels able to, in line with medical advice, although this will not indicate a return to full-time duties.
