A fit gran hit back at the trolls who claim she couldn't have aged naturally after having five children.

Jacqueline Hooton, 61, from West Sussex, can lift double her body weight and encourages other women to build their strength too. Despite having osteoarthritis, the personal trainer is on a mission to prove you can look amazing at any age if you commit to putting the work in.

But, even though she's always on the move, some people claim there's no way she could have aged so well after having five children. The comments left many people stunned.

In a recent post, she revealed people claim she couldn't have "aged naturally" after seeing the videos of her lifting weights and getting pumped in the gym. But she won't let the haters get her down, so she hit back in the best way.

The gran shared yet another video of her doing her thing with weights, and it's fair to say she's one super strong woman. Being an avid believer in active ageing, she knows she's put the work in to stay so fit in her 60s.

Writing on Instagram, Jacqueline said: "100kg/220lbs x 2 is still something I’m proud of today. It’s not my best lift, because annoyingly my grip gave out after two reps.

"Showing up is half the battle. Some people won’t like this though. They don’t believe that physical activity supports healthier ageing. Instead they make assumptions and judgements, and leave rude comments.

"But I’m not here for them, I’m here for YOU. I want to support, encourage, and inspire you in ways to look after your current health and invest in your future health.

"So even if your grip gives out, I won’t give out - I’m going to be cheerleading you saying ‘you can do this’. We don’t wish for it, we work for it."

Since she shared the post, over 2,500 people liked it, and her followers were quick to comment too. They told her she "continues to inspire people", no matter what the trolls say.

One person said: "Don't pay attention to those little people that have nothing to do with their lives. They're probably jealous because they are half your age in paper, but double your age in their soul."

Another wrote: "Thank you for always being inspiring. The clowns don't know what they're talking about. It's also reassuring to see that even the experts have days where everything doesn't go according to plan."

A third also added: "Good strong life accomplished with hard work. Wishing it was magic, but it's not!"

Jacqueline is known for inspiring women to better their health. She boasts a huge following on social media thanks to her can-do attitude, and her simple tips are really accessible to people of all ages.

The fitness fanatic previously encouraged people to wear the shorts this summer. Even though she looks amazing, the gran still receives cruel comments from trolls who tell her not to wear shorts.

In a recent video, she revealed keyboard warriors told her that her knees are "about to break", but she just laughs it off. This is because she knows, no matter how old she is, they help her to live, walk, exercise and make the most out of life.

They've even helped her take on the London Marathon in the past, so they're not that bad after all. In fact, she's super grateful she's still able to use them.
