Rishi Sunak has been told "people have lost faith" in the Tories - less than 24 hours before polls open in the General Election.

During a grilling on ITV's This Morning, the Tory leader attempted to boast about his record in government, saying: "With me you've got someone who has the courage of their convictions. You know where I stand. You always know where I am."

But presenter Cat Deeley told him: "The problem is Prime Minister people have lost faith in that, I think is what's happened, and that's reflected in the polls and that's reflected in why we're looking at you not getting in again".

Mr Sunak admitted the Conservatives "haven't got everything right" as his party braces for a historic defeat at the General Election on Thursday.

Mega-polls have forecast Keir Starmer is on course for a huge majority tomorrow - even surpassing ex-Labour PM Tony Blair's 1997 election landslide.

During his appearance on ITV's This Morning, Mr Sunak was also told he had failed to deliver on a key pledge to voters. On the steps of No10 when he became PM in 2022, the Tory leader promised: "This government will have integrity, professionalism and accountability at every level. Trust is earned."

But Presenter Ben Shephard told Mr Sunak: "Do you feel like you've delivered that Rishi? Because it has been a particularly torrid period of your premiership. More recently during the campaign there's been a number of occasions when I would say professionalism, integrity, and accountability hasn't been delivered".
