Starring: Amanda Seyfried, Julie Christie The hooded heroine must choose between two blokes while her village is terrorised by a werewolf in a blatant attempt to make a Twilightstyle tween romance. Unfortunately, it fails utterly.

Starring: Neve Campbell, Courteney Cox, Emma Roberts Wes Craven's iconic postmodern horror series gets an unwelcome fourth instalment as Ghostface returns to slice and dice the unfortunate residents of Woodsboro. What once seemed fresh now seems decidedly tired.

Starring: Chris Hemsworth, Anthony Hopkins, Natalie Portman The hammer-wielding demi-god is banished to Earth where he falls in with a group of amateur scientists. Great looking and thoroughly enjoyable.

Starring: Toby Kebbell, Brian Cox Afghanistan veteran Bobby finds London an even more menacing warscape as he's hired to make contact with an agent who may have gone rogue, and faces the feral kids on his estate.

Water For Elephants Cert 12A, 120mins ***

Starring: Robert Pattinson, Christoph Waltz, Reese Witherspoon A young veterinary student lands a job with circus roustabouts in an oldfashioned but tepid vehicle for Twilight star Pattinson. It's rather ordinary fare.

Winnie The Pooh Cert U, 73mins **

Voices: John Cleese, Jim Cummings, Craig Ferguson AA Milne's favourite creation stars in a short animated movie with the running time bolstered by two forgettable shorts and some long credits. Not bad, but hardly worth the ticket price.
