XDefiant players can earn up to 12 free weapon skins during the Preseason by tuning into any XDefiant stream on Twitch. Here's what you need to know.
XDefiant has launched after a number of delays, but we're only in the Preseason of the live service game that kicks off proper when Season 1 goes live on Tuesday, July 2. What is a preseason? Damned if I know, but this early-access-but-not XDefiant Preseason window lasts for six weeks and players can spend time getting acquainted with the five factions, 14 maps, five game modes, and 24 weapons (plus 44 attachments).
During the beta, players got the chance to earn some freebies with the XDefiant Twitch Drops that carried over into the main game. The two weapon skins on offer included the M870 'Violet' Weapon Skin and M249 'Violet' Weapon Skin, and if you missed out, too bad. The skins aren't listed in the current list of XDefiant Twitch Drops for the Preseason, so there's no way of picking them up for free right now.
We're currently on week two of the Preseason so some of the XDefiant Twitch Drops are no longer available, but there's still plenty to earn over the course of the next few weeks. I've listed all of the drops for each week of the Preseason below, so you can lament over the goodies you've possibly missed out on. But there's plenty of weapon skins left to unlock as well as the weekly Weapon XP Booster which is available as an XDefiant Twitch Drop every week during the Preseason.
XDefiant Twitch Drops: all free items and how to get them
There are 12 weapon skins up for grabs via XDefiant Twitch Drops for the Preseason and you can check out a preview of them in the image above courtesy of the Ubisoft blog post. These can be earned by watching any XDefiant stream, rather than being tied to particular creators. And I say 'watch' but you could just put these on in the background to meet the requisite time and unlock your reward.
We're currently on week two, and have listed the XDefiant Twitch Drops rewards for the entirety of the Preseason and how to earn them below. And be sure to link your Ubisoft account (website here) to your Twitch account otherwise all of that time will be wasted.
It's worth noting that something seems to have gone awry with the times cited on the blog post – with the exception of the first week, the times for the East Coast are either off, or it's not a simultaneous refresh across regions. I'm erring on the side that this is a mistake and working off the West Coast times, and assuming the refresh is happening simultaneously across regions. Just make sure you watch the allocated time in that week and you'll be fine.
