The second XDefiant open beta will be available to play later today, ahead of it's full release later this year.

XDefiant is Ubisoft's new free-to-play FPS title which will be launching later in the summer, as confirmed during the Ubisoft Forward showcase as part of Summer Game Fest. Players have already had a taste of the upcoming Call of Duty rival, following the first XDefiant closed beta back in April. But if you didn't get chance to play, fear not, as there's a new XDefiant open beta launching later today for players in the UK and around the world.

However, it should be noted that the XDefiant open beta will be limited to players on PS5, Xbox Series X|S and PC only, with players on Xbox One and PS4 having to wait until the full game launches later this summer to try it out.

XDefiant open beta release date and start time

The XDefiant open beta start time is set for next week on Wednesday, June 21 at 6pm BST / 1pm EDT / 10am PDT and will run up until the weekend, drawing to a close on Friday, June 23 at 11pm PDT, which is 7am BST / 2am EDT on Saturday, June 24. However, it's worth noting that the XDefiant closed beta was extended, so perhaps we could see a similar situation for the upcoming open beta if it's popular enough. Especially as the weekend is the prime time for gaming rather than cramming in after school or work during the week.

Like the previous closed beta, the XDefiant open beta platforms will be limited to PS5, Xbox Series X|S and PC. Players on Xbox One and PS4 will have to wait until the full game launches later this summer to try it out.

Obviously the graphical bump is always nice but for a fast-paced shooter like XDefiant you'll want to make sure you're hitting that 60FPS mark, lest you lose out thanks to poor performance.
