Be careful on the Internet until you see The Rise of Skywalker.

Episode Nine of the central Star Wars saga is released at midnight tomorrow (December 19), however, spoilers for the conclusion of The Rise of Skywalker is already finding its way onto forums and social media.

The plot of the final instalment of the sequel trilogy of films has been kept fiendishly under wraps for the months running up to its release, however, it seems some people who caught a preview of the film are intent on getting the word out on how it ends.

The Rise of Skywalker follows Rey ( Daisy Ridley ) and the Resistance as they take on the villainous Kylo Ren ( Adam Driver ) and the First Order in a final battle of epic proportions that will involve all those left fighting in the galaxy.

Out of respect to those not wanting to see spoilers we have not posted any here and do recommend muting anything Star Wars-related on social media until you've seen the new film.

One irritated fan wrote about some Twitter users going out of their way to 'ruin' the end of the film: "People who read spoilers and then go online to complain about the film without actually seeing the film are the worst kind of people. If you don't want to watch it, don't. Just don't ruin the fun for the rest of us. #StarWars #TheRiseOfSkywalker #JJabramsisNOToverparty #Rey "

Another said: "PSA: There are a**holes out here just RESPONDING to innocent tweets with a whole raft of #StarWars #TheRiseofSkywalker spoilers so get all your mutes in order."

It goes without saying: avoid the spoilers!

The critics have already had their say on the film, and it is safe to say that it is divided.

However, our review called it "a thrilling and emotional conclusion in this breathless and hugely entertaining action fantasy blockbuster."

Let's wait and see if the rest of the Star Wars fandom are as keen!

Star Wars The Rise of Skywalker is released in UK cinemas on December 19, 2019.
