Thomas Markle Snr has begged King Charles to meet with him amid his estrangement with Meghan Markle.

The Duchess of Sussex hasn't spoken to her father in six years following a dramatic fallout before Meghan's wedding to Prince Harry. Their feud means Thomas has not met his two grandchildren - Prince Archie and Princes Lilibet.

Meghan and Harry are also estranged from the Royal Family and Thomas has now admitted he would love to meet with the King as he said they are both "in the same boat". He also expressed the "deep empathy" he feels for the monarch.

"I would love to speak to him because I am sure he has as many unanswered questions as I do. Neither of us deserves the treatment we've received," he said in a new interview.

Speaking to the Daily Mail, Thomas added: "I have so many questions I'd like to ask Meghan and Harry. The main one being, why have they treated not only me but the Royal Family and the King so badly."

Thomas also begged Meghan to end their feud before his 80th birthday next month. Failing that, he said he would at least like to have a picture of his grandchildren.

He added: "They have two grandpas who want to see them, one of whom is the King of England. I never in my 80 years thought I'd be in the same boat as the King."

The monarch has met his grandson Prince Archie on a handful of occasions, however, he has only met his granddaughter Princess Lilibet once. Lilibet was born in America after Meghan and Harry had left the Royal Family.

Meghan has grown estranged from her father over the years and the last time they spoke was when he was in a hospital bed before her wedding. The pair stopped speaking after Thomas was caught staging paparazzi photos before Meghan and Harry's wedding in 2018.

Meghan opened up about their broken relationship during her bombshell 2021 interview with Oprah Winfrey as she admitted she "grieves a lot". She added: "But I’m still standing, and my hope for people in the takeaway from this is to know that there’s another side."
