Sydney Sweeney is 'not pretty' and 'can't act' claims top Hollywood producer Carol Baum

Hollywood producer Carol Baum has hit out at actress Sydney Sweeney saying she is "not pretty" and "unable to act".

The producer, who is behind movies like 'Father of the Bride', made the strong comments after a recent film screening where she claimed: "I don’t get Sydney Sweeney". Speaking at the Jacob Burns Center in New York's Pleasantville, Carol also called Sydney's 2023 hit 'Anyone But You' as "unwatchable".

Adding further harsh comments, Carol explained how she had asked students in her class at The University of Southern California School of Cinematic Arts to explain why the actress was so sought after. Carol added: "I said to my class, ‘Explain this girl to me. She’s not pretty, she can’t act. Why is she so hot?' Nobody had an answer."

Despite her comments, Carol did add that she wouldn't necessarily turn down a film project if it had Sydney in it, as she explained: "We all want to get the movie made and who walks away from a green light? Nobody I know. Your job is to get the movie made."

Sydney shot to fame in HBO’s 'Euphoria', which saw her earn an Emmy nomination in 2022. She also landed an Emmy nomination for her role as Olivia Mossbacher in 'The White Lotus'.

Last month Sydney joked about how she achieved her curvaceous physique as she made her hosting debut on Saturday Night Live. She started her monologue by joking that she has achieved her famous hourglass figure by using the weight-loss drug Ozempic, before poking fun at rumours that she had had an affair with her Anything But You co-star Glenn Powell while engaged to businessman Jonathan Davino.

Sydney gushed about her fiancé to the audience, saying that there was no chance that she could have had an affair. She said: "But the craziest rumour is that I was having an affair with my co-star Glenn Powell. That's obviously not true. Me and my fiancé produced the movie together, and he was there the entire shoot."

The Hollywood star continued: "And I just want to let everyone know that he's the man of my dreams, and we're still together and stronger than ever. He even came here tonight to support me. Can we cut to him?"

When the camera cut to the audience, it rested upon Glen rather than Davino, with Sydney exclaiming: "That's not my fiancé! He's in my dressing room!"
