Princess Diana seemingly predicted that her sons Prince Harry and Prince William would be embroiled in a rift.

The late and former Princess of Wales, who sadly died in 1997, once predicted that her youngest son Prince Harry, and his now-estranged brother, Prince William, would not reconcile, with the Princess' prediction coming true.

Former royal butler Paul Burrell, who is a former servant of the British Royal Household and latterly butler to Diana, has recently shared how he believes the Princess "would be devastated" if she knew how serious the royal conflict had become in recent years.

Mr Burrell spoke of how Diana was always a "peacemaker", and noted how she would have put an end to the conflict if she had been alive. "She intended the four of them to stay together," he said when speaking of how the Princess had earlier made Harry apologise to his father.

Speaking to Bella Magazine, Mr Burrell went on: "It broke her heart when that disintegrated. She would have predicted that once that disintegrated, William and Harry would have had problems of their own and that has come true. It's a lost cause without Diana's intervention."

This comes after the Duke and Duchess of Sussex embarked on a royal tour in all but name earlier this month. The couple jetted to Nigeria for a 72-hour whistle-stop tour. The West African trip came after Harry spent some time in London, but did not meet with his father amid the ongoing royal rift.

When Harry visited the UK earlier this month, he did not meet with the monarch or his brother. Nor did Harry meet with his sister-in-law Princess Kate, who is currently undergoing treatment for cancer.

Speaking to The Mirror after the couple's "faux royal tour", public relations guru Lynn Carratt from Press Box PR said that the royal rift could deepen because of them. She said: "These faux-Royal tours could deepen their rift with the Royal Family, if not handled correctly.

"Their Nigerian tour bared all that hallmarks of a Royal Tour which was said to [have] infuriated the palace."
