Rylan Clark opened up about his estranged father, revealing he has "no desire" to meet his half-siblings from his dad's "secret family."
While Rylan is often seen on Celebrity Gogglebox with his beloved mum Linda, he seldom speaks of his father, who has been largely absent from his life.
The Radio 2 DJ delved into the details of his last encounter with his father and the fact that he's never met his half-siblings in a candid chat last year.
He recounted: "I had a lot of curiosity about him growing up, it transpired that he had a family that my mum didn't know about at the time when she got pregnant."
Speaking to the Telegraph, Rylan recalled how his father would sporadically appear during his childhood but noted that their last meeting was when Rylan was just 15 years old, reports OK!.
Describing an unexpected run-in after triumphing over school bullies, Rylan narrated: "As we were walking to the sandwich shop, bearing in mind I'd not seen him for 10 years at that point. I just looked and saw this man and said, 'Mum, that's Daddy.' And she went, 'Oh yeah, it is, you all right?' They chatted, and he just went, 'Oh, my boy...' And I said, 'Bye' And he went."
Rylan then expressed his lack of interest in connecting with his two half-siblings, humorously suggesting they might be watching him on TV. The TV star also opened up about his estranged father on Louis Theroux's podcast Grounded in 2020, revealing he had no intention of connecting with his half-siblings.
He explained: "Even though they don't know me personally they know me... and I just think that it would be a bit too odd."
It comes after Gogglebox fans were left in hysterics over Rylan's four-word response to a bizarre show last week.
The hit Channel 4 series is back for a new season with the nation's most-loved stars being filmed watching the latest shows and films on television. During the first episode of the new season, the celebrities had to watch My Strange Addiction, where a man explained his raw meat diet.
The man said: "I'm addicted to eating raw meat. The real game changer is when people find out that I'm eating raw chicken", adding: "In four years I've eaten about 100 raw chickens and I've never been sick. I actually also eat raw internal organs."
Watching the show with his mum, Linda, Rylan quipped: "How the f**k is that bloke sniffing a chicken's a*****e and eating raw chicken..." and it was his next four-word remark that left viewers in hysterics as he added: "And I'm still single!"
Taking toTwitter, now X, viewers were left in hysterics over Rylan's response. One person said: "#CelebrityGogglebox Rylan lol this blokes eating all that and I'm still single" with laughing emojis, a different account put: "And I'm still single! @Rylan #celebritygogglebox" with laughing emojis while another added: "I love Rylan and his mum #CelebrityGogglebox."
As the show continued and viewers saw the man eat his raw meat, it was too much for Rylan as he had to walk away as it made him feel sick. As he started coughing, Rylan's laughing mum said: "Go out, go out as you're going to be sick, go out there!" to which Rylan walked off, saying: "I can't watch it! Just give me a minute, I need to walk away!"
